Enrique Orduña

Principal Investigator
He holds a PhD in Documentation from the Universitat Politècnica de València and is a Full Professor in the Department of Audiovisual Communication, Documentation and Art History of said university. His main lines of work are oriented to the study of scientific information, covering aspects related to the creation, dissemination, consumption and evaluation of scientific information, especially through the Web. Throughout his career he has worked on a wide number of topics, including the design, classification and evaluation of bibliometric and cybermetric indicators, university rankings, bibliographic databases, academic search engines, Academic SEO. Through the iMetrics Lab group, of which he is co-founder and currently the main manager, he offers advisory and consulting services to different agents of the scientific ecosystem, especially universities, scientific personnel, research groups, magazines, publishers and evaluation agencies.

Eva Méndez

Eva Méndez is a professor in the Department of Library Science and Documentation at the Carlos III University of Madrid, where she has been deputy vice-rector in 3 vice-rectorships: Scientific Policy, Digital Strategy and Education, and infrastructure. She was the president of the European Open Science Policy Platform (2018-2020). She is currently director of the Open Science Lab meta-research group for Open Science and a member of the CoARA Board of Directors.
Rodrigo Costas
CWTS Leiden University
Rodrigo Costas is a senior researcher at the Center for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS) at Leiden University (The Netherlands). Rodrigo is also an Extraordinary Associate Professor at the Center for Research in Evaluation, Science and Technology (CREST) at Stellenbosch University (South Africa). He has a Doctorate in Library Science and Documentation from the CSIC of Spain. His areas of expertise include the fields of data science, scientometrics, and social media metrics. His work focuses on developing new theoretical and analytical approaches to understanding the interactions between science and society. Some of his research topics include the development of novel scientometric approaches to study the global academic workforce, in particular the mobility flows of scientific researchers, and the study of funding awards. In addition to his research activities, Rodrigo also participates in several European and international research projects and is a member of the CWTS UNESCO Chair on Diversity and Inclusion in Global Science. He is also associate editor of the journal Quantitative Science Studies.
Isidro F. Aguillo
Cybermetrics Lab IPP-CSIC
Isidro F. Aguillo coordinates the Cybermetrics Laboratory at the Institute of Policies and Public Goods (IPP) of the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC). His lines of work include the development of indicators of research activity on the web, the evaluation and analysis of open access initiatives and scientific communication processes through electronic journals and institutional repositories. He is responsible for the publication of the Web Ranking of Universities (since 2004) and has been the editor of the magazine “Cybermetrics” (1997-2015), the first electronic magazine of the CSIC. He has published around two hundred articles and is listed among the 2% most cited authors in the world.
Carmen Pérez Esparrells

Carmen Perez-Esparrells has a degree and PhD in Economics and Administration of
Business from the UCM, and Master in Economics of Education and Labor Economics from the UC3M. She is currently a Full Professor of the Department of Economics and
UAM Public Finance. She has previously held the positions of Vice-Rector for Innovation at the UAM and Researcher at the Institute of Fiscal Studies of the Ministry of Finance of Spain. Her research activity focuses on Economics and Public Management, Policies on university innovation and research, university financing and rankings of higher education institutions.
Mike Thelwall
University of Sheffield
Mike Thelwall, who worked at the University of Wolverhampton until 2023 and currently has a position at the Information School at the University of Sheffield, is an accomplished webometrics researcher. In particular, he founded and led the Statistical Cybermetrics and Research Assessment Group, achieving a commendable submission of the Research Excellence framework in 2014. With 22 PhD supervisions completed, Mike achieved 48,000 citations and the 2015 Solla Price Medal in scientometrics. His collaborative efforts extend to international projects and external contracts for organizations such as the UN, UKRI and Jisc. As a member of the Metric Tide group, he assessed bibliometrics in the Research Excellence Framework and currently contributes to the UK Forum for Responsible Research Metrics. In 2022, he led a team exploring the potential role of AI in evaluating future research in the UK.
Nuria Bautista Puig

Graduate in Geography (University of Lleida) and Master in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing (University of Zaragoza). After obtaining her doctorate in 2020 on the analysis of sustainability in universities at the Carlos III University (international mention, outstanding cum laude, extraordinary award, AASHE Campus Sustainability Research Award), she obtained a postdoctoral contract at the University of Gävle (Sweden ). Since July 2022, she has held a position as Assistant Professor in the Department of Library and Documentation (Complutense University of Madrid). Her areas of specialization are bibliometrics/scientometrics, organizational sustainability and sustainable development goals.
Carlos Lopezosa

Carlos Lopezosa has a doctorate in journalism from the Pompeu Fabra University and a visiting researcher at the University of Barcelona (Margarita Salas postdoctoral fellowship). His doctoral thesis focused on the study of positioning factors for content-intensive sites. He is a specialist in search engine positioning and monetization systems based on quality content strategies. He has been an associate professor at the Pompeu Fabra University, teaching at the Faculty of Communication, in the Degrees in Journalism, Audiovisual Communication and Advertising and Public Relations.
Cristina I. Font
Universitat Politècnica de València
Cristina, PhD and Computer Scientist with a Master's Degree in Information Management, currently works as an Assistant Professor at the UPV (DCADHA). Her research focuses on patent linkage analysis, an extension of her thesis (Cum Laude and Extraordinary Prize). She is part of the iMetrics Lab research group.
